Sometimes the most fun way to get into the backcountry, Part 103 Ultralights and Light Sport Aircraft have their own considerations.

human flying drone

I posted this link to this forum I hang out on about electric vehicles of all types, in this case a big ass drone towing a guy on a snowboard around, to show how no one except me had any problem with this skilled bozo flying this thing so close to people. I'm "planecraneguy" on this forum, obviously I guess. I don't see how he's controlling it, but he is and does a damn good job, but wow, he seems to have no fear in operating it in close proximity to little kids and large crowds of people. Check the part out where he's high fiving people as he 'boards along, the drone right over their heads, amazing disregard for common sense around multiple high RPM propellers!

Good find! It explained a lot, like how he controlled, he didn't ! Now I want to know how he got permission from the ski area to put a. 150 lb. object with 16 whirling blades above the skisrs heads. Even my local funky area would call bs on that!

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

1050lbs of thrust!!!!! holy sh!%

Yea, I wouldn't argue there was some careless stuff done in that video.....Like you said, if you want to endanger yourself (like hanging 50ft off the ground on that thing), have at it.. I do it all the time as well. But it would be nice not to have the kids and other people involved - as small as the risk probably actually is... But I'm definitely impressed with what that thing can do though... Man that's a boatload of thrust!

I'm a fan of Casie's and would be strongly against that wager. In the past he's occasionally talked about safety and he seems to take is pretty seriously in general, but moreso when someone other than himself is at risk. Finally, this wasn't just some random stunt, Samsung was the sponsor so I would bet, again, that their contract required reasonable safety precautions.
