hunting/fishing

Hey my friends, I was given some seed money for an out of state hunting trip for my birthday this year and my intent is to go to west Texas to hunt for Aoudad sheep.

Even though I live in Alaska and have dome of the best hunting and fishing around it is super to go to other places and hunt other things.

I would like to offer to help anyone who would like to come to S.E. Alaska to hunt or fish, just let me know what you want to do and I will try to help.

In turn I would like to ask if there are any BCPers in West Texas or East New Mexico who can help me with hunting or information. I I can put this together I will want to do other things while in Texas too, Bird hunting, sporting clays shooting, fishing, horse back riding or whatever.

I can't take my ole plane all the way from here to there due to time needed but would sure like to meet other flyers.

Skalywag is the person you want to talk to. He has a fantastic ranch in West Texas with some great Aoudad hunting. Send him a PM.

Hey Shane, give me a shout two1zero-8two7-86four2. I also work with desert safaris, http://www.desertsafaris.com. Good pics and info on Aoudad in West TX on their site. Prime time is late September through early Novemeber, but it's still good hunting through mid April. I know all the outfits around here and can steer you in the right direction, but I'm biased of course

If you make it down im always up to do some flyin in the wagon or cub!

Sadly, we have very similar hunting in BC or I would be all over your offer.

Nevermind the hassle of hunting across an international boundary, a hunting trade would be a very cool way of meeting a fellow hunter/pilot.

I hope it works a treat in Texas. I hope you fill your tags and make some great memories.

Re: hunting/fishing

If you (or anyone else) want to go international, I can do similar trade-a-trip in NZ :D

In years to come I'll be visiting the States for sure. I'd be keen for a bit of flying (and maybe seeing some game animals!)...

We often do fly-in hunts for Red deer, Chamois, Tahr, Sika pig. I can probably organise Fallow. Super easy over here, if the weather is right. Fly and hunt same-day. Bow or rifle.
