Missing all the fun photos and videos that usually get posted on here. Its summer...are we not flying, taking photos and making movies?

I mean the fire extinguisher thread along with the new movie about Planes and all is good but...

This one I just posted here is good!

Come on BCPers...we need more flying porn on here

Damn I miss Alaska...

Thanks for sharing! Per your request I'll repost my last video in the video section. I posted it once already in another random thread, but will add it to the video section for longevity

Good one! Was that guy wearing a survival vest?? Did anyone else catch that? Seems like a good idea playing in that part of the world...

Yeah, I caught that vest action, damn good idea for that kind of flying in that kind of country.

At :32, when he starts skiing the glacier pond, that took some cajones  They flew the hell out of that trip =D>

Re: Huskys in Alaska exploring

In reality this kind of flying, (cavorting around glacial lakes and outfalls) wearing a survival vest, or at least an inflatable fisherman's life vest with pockets and pouches for basic equipment is not optional, if you possess any common sense. One hick up of the engine and your most likely gonna lose the plane fast. Woolen long johns would make sense also cause it's gonna be damned colder after you pull yourself out of the icy drink and get comfortable (not) on a bergie bit. Rescue out there, even when reported immediately could take a while. The helmet is a nice touch in case of an instant forced landing in one of the many craggy crevasses.
Low altitude flying in this kind of environment is of high risk., but also high on the funulator scale. Live to fly another fun day is what I say! and do the simple things that can save your life if the shit hits the fan.

Re: Huskys in Alaska exploring

Both of these were from trips to my back yard here in the Wrangell St. Elias mountains with a bit of the Chugach mountains as well. This is the Wrangell S. Elias National Park, largest in the nation and roughly 6 times larger then Yellowstone (and much more beautiful and majestic). I love it when lower48 pilots can come up and view the slender of the area and experience the unlimited and unrestricted landing opportunities throughout the area.
