Hutton Settlement Flight Sat Aug 28th

The Hutton Settlement is an orphanage located in Spokane, WA. Every year Washington Pilots Association organizes a fly out from Felts Field to Cavanaugh Bay at Priest Lake. We meet for breakfast at Felts field in the morning. Around nine AM about 25 kids from the Settlement show up and we haul them up to CB so they can enjoy a day on the lake. Usually there are a few volunteers that bring boats out and take the kids skiing and tubing. The pilots hang around together and tell a bunch of fishy stories. In the afternoon we take them back to Felts. It is an awesome thing to be a part of.

It appears that we are short of aircraft this year. I thought I would post this and see if anyone here is available to help.

This is something the kids look forward to every year, I just hope we can get enough planes together to make it work.

[-o< If you are able to come join the fun, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the organizer. [-o<

Hey Paul,
I'm a definite maybe and will know more by next Monday at work. I can put the back seat back in my Maule for flying some smaller kids.

Hi James,

You were one of the people I thought about when I posted this. After seeing some of your posts the last couple months, I knew you are based in Spokane, and it would be great if you could help out.

Plus it would be good to meet some people from here....Backcountrypilot/Spokane.

I believe you and is it M6rv6 are the closest forum members to Spokane.

I'll look forward to hearing if your available, last year there was 1 or 2 other Maules.

The wpa also does a flight for the veterans from the va hospital you might consider, its very rewarding also!

Re: Hutton Settlement Flight Sat Aug 28th

I just heard from the organizers and we are short of aircraft. We could use one more and two would be helpfull to keep weight down going into CB. If any one else is available, the kids would be very greatful.

Thanks,

Paul

Hey Paul,
I'm in and will put my back seat back in the plane. My maule has a four place intercom, but the back seat is pretty small and better for smaller kids.

Thanks,

James

That's great James, thank you!

Breakfast is optional. We meet the kids at Western at nine, so those that show for breakfast will show at the skyway around eight.

Thanks James

Hello Backcountry Pilots,
A great time today flying three kids from the Hutton Settlement to Cananaugh Bay from Spokane. This was their first airplane ride too. I don't know who had a bigger grin, them or me. :D There was about 10 local airplanes involved.

No offense Cessna guys, but I think James' plane is the coolest looking of that bunch. I'm a traitor, I know. :)

Nice work, man.
