I digress...I dont know what's happening event....

Hey everyone! We have at least one more camp out this year! Note: campout, not fly-in! So Gravelley Valley the 24-25. I think this one will have the fun on friday night! It will also be 260driver aKa Jeremy's last fly in before he moves to the East coast to fly with the Ohio bush planes. Should be a good time! For those that don't know it's a great strip and plenty long for anyone. Also there are a few places we can hit up to the south and the best part is you have sea level power! \:D/ For those of you that will bringing a significant other that is a female there is a bathroom in Oak camp that is open year round and it has bathrooms. Approx 400yards walking 800 round trip!
See you there!

Re: 16-17 Nov- Gravelly Valley(1Q3) Camping/260Driver Going

I was flying into SFO commercial on a Dash 8 a few months ago, and for some reason we stayed pretty low while approaching from the NW, and flew right over Gravelly Valley. Having never been there, I didn't recognize it, just knew it was obviously an airstrip located at the north end of some big lake, so I had to look it up. I was like "that's where those NorCal guys are always going!" Seems like it would be a fun approach over the water. There wasn't any green grass there in August. :)

ID is actually 1Q5.

We are going to have some family in town. Even if I can't camp I'll be sure to make it up there for a few hours.

It looks like I'll miss the party. I found out that the 170 that I have been renting is off line for an engine overhaul.

260Driver -

It was an honor to meet you and fly with you. Good luck on the east coast. I'm looking forward to your trip report when you fly the Maule back, and some pictures of your new stomping grounds.

I did a young eagles rally this weekend, and not sure I am going to escape next weekend again. I'll do my best. Gotta put the bushwheels back on to.

Well, heck... long as the wx holds, I'm looking to cross the Sierra for a campout, too!
Might pick up a buddy in Chico on the way.

Weather is calling for Rain this weekend! Gravelly tends to fog up when the weather is good. As an Alternate Bryan and I are talking about possibly doing a BBQ at one of our hangars at Nut Tree KVCB. The hangar I rent is 80x80 with plenty of parking, a bathroom, and the normal hangar stuff. It's all going to weather dependent as well as dependent that I get home from overseas. More to come.

If the wx is bad and you guys want to do the BBQ thing we could also use my hangar. Theres a huge grass area right in front of my hangar we could use for parking. I also have 2 couches and a fridge. Theres also a BBQ, tables, and chairs at the airport I can use. I'm throwing this out there because I might not be done with my annual, and I don't want to drive to Nut Tree :D I'm still fixing a couple squawks. My fingers are crossed to get it knocked out tomorrow though. [-o< There's also some cool strips near by: Delta International, C-180Bill's, and a couple secret spots I can tell you about that are within 5-10 minutes. Just an idea!

Looks like the weather is going to keep me from coming down. I was really looking forward to seeing everyone and showing off the Pacer for the first time. Guess I will have to wait for a good break in the weather.

Have fun!

Yep, weather not looking conducive to flying this weekend. I'll be down there next time! Have fun, everybody!

The good news is that it looks like we'll get some snow in the mountains this weekend. =D>
