Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if the slide in tanks are possible on top of the tip tanks?

Right now I have 62 in the mains and 28 in the tips, and a little more fuel would be nice on the back and forth trips where there’s no gas.

I got the chance to admire 96C on the ramp at Salisbury a while back. Congratulations on a beautiful purchase!

I'm not sure what you're asking.....the Flint wing extension tanks on the 185 significantly modify the wing structures, unlike the Flint 206 wing tip tanks, which essesntially just screw onto the tips in place of the existing wing tips. On the 185 the extensions tie into structure well up the wing, and wing skins are tied in. So, they're not easily removable, like the 206 tanks are.

If you were thinking about more fuel with what you have, you might want to look at the Monarch tanks, which mount just outboard of the mains.

Got it. I’ve never had my flint tips off, but have taken them off on a 206 we painted, and assumed they were the same setup.
