“...I want to be a heli Paniolo baby...”

It takes strength and fortitude to beat the air into submission.

“...I want to be a heli Paniolo baby...”

Most helicopters for rent in Hawaii are grounded and the flight insurance suspended due to the 99.99% drop in tourism. The only helicopter I could rent was the “Hawaii News Now” (NBC affiliate) ship operated by Mauna Loa Helicopters.

Went out and practiced autos, run on landings (getting ready for Summer DA) and received a couple of hours of ground school. I had a very good female instructor that listened to all my old stories of flying SAR in Hawaii. Very patient.

Flying a helo is about as close to cowboy “stuff” as I can get on the island...
