Ice climbing photo shoot by helicopter

The huge natural amphitheater and icefall are one thing. Flying a heli into that bowl is just awesome looking. I may also just be a sucker for high contrast yellow on ice and rock.

Helmcken Falls on the Murtle River, British Columbia.

I live about 20 mins from Hunlen falls, over 1000' from Turner lake to Lonesome lake. Makes a huge icicle in winter. Nat. Geo. made a film of ice climbers a few yrs. ago.

By far my favorite way to get to Bella Coola....

Come across Charlotte Lake on the deck, fly through the notch where the Atnarko River drops off and down into Lonesome Lake, and from there to the Bella Coola River and into Hagensborg. Gives a beautiful view of Hunlen Falls.

Some of the most breathtaking scenery on the planet.
