Here's a gizmo that will make watching computer based videos more fun:
http://www.meritline.com/vga-to-tv-conv ... 40917.aspxI just bought one and I have to say I'm quite happy with the performance for the price. I've got an older 36" crt based tv that only has composite video (rca jacks) inputs. The computers in our house don't have a compatible video output, so we were constrained to watching on the computer monitor. Too small.
This little converter goes between the computer and it's monitor, so your monitor still works as always, but it also has a composite video out that goes to the tv. For text based stuff, it is horrible with our tv, but for movies it is quite acceptable. The converter does not have any audio capabilities. For that I connect a stereo cable from the headphone jack on the computer to the audio input on the tv.
Since this worked pretty well, I signed up for Netflix and have also been watching the instant movies with it. I'd say the quality of image on the tv is about equal to a very good vhs tape. You HD addicts probably won't be satisfied, but then you probably don't have a 12 year old tv, either. I probably won't buy a new tv with HDMI inputs until the old one croaks and I can't fix it myself. So, in the meantime, this is a decent bridge some of you may find useful.
I bought mine from the above vendor. I arrived from china in about two weeks. I haven't ordered from them before, so I don't really know much about them.

ps Zane, if this belongs somewhere else, feel free to move it.
