Iceman's BCP Idaho trip June 2008

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Butch,

I think that is what you were trying to do.

To paste in photo's from your gallery, browse to the photo you want and right click the photo (pointer somewhere in the middle of the photo) pull down to properties and left click, then copy paste the url form there to the post using the format... Any problems PM me...

Butch,

I like the picture you took of the BCAH crew maintaining a careful watch over arrivals and departures at Johnson Creek.

We get little credit for faithfully performing our duties while trying to consume hops and barley based liquid nourishment before the frozen H2O achieves liquid status and no longer maintains the optimum consumption temperature.

Anyway, here we are,,, hard at it ! ;-)

Sorry I missed the JC flyin

Iceman, sure sounds like everybody had a great time at JC. I was all set to go when one of the pilots that work for me broke his arm and I was called in to fly his trip for 4 days. That kind of blew the whole trip for me. Zane's Pics and video were great. I liked your picture of your plane siting in the grass, a classic shot. I will try and make it next year for sure.

Paul, That's at Moose Creek. Two intersecting runways and long. Land on the long one and take off on the shorter one which is a down hill run.

Moose Creek

Hard to tell these Idaho strips apart the all look so inviting and the backdrops so similar.

that's a dang nice lookin airplane, Butch!
we flew back to Bismarck from Smiley creek in just under five hours. burned 39 gallons of gas. I figured it cost me less to fly out there and back than it would have cost to drive half ton chevy pickup. I do have a great cross wind / challis story to tell you sometime.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Thanks Mark, I almost bought a blue M5 when I was looking. It had tons of extras and was an ex Cal Highway Patrol plane. Only drawback was the airframe had 14000 hours on it. I figured 14000 hours was a tad bit too much. Tell us your crosswind story.

BTW I meant to mention that of all the breakfast flights I made this year Elk City had by far the best breakfast. It' s a nice less than 1 hour hop up there and the strip is very doable by most, except maybe Moonies. Curt enjoys all visitors to his hangar and the restaurant is a short walk down the airport road. Turn left at the bottom and it is the gas station on the left about 100 yards. :D
