Idaho Airports Ipad App
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
Looks like it might be cool but I don't have a Ipad so don't know. Wish it was compatible with the Iphone.

I've downloaded it and played with it a little - its a good resource - has the same daigrams as published in Hanselmans Fly Idaho book. I am not sure if it will somehow allow pilots to post PIREPS or other tips, which would be cool (ala shortfield.com).
Any chance of Shortfield making its way to a purpose built app? That would be cool.

Did you try the density altitude calculator?

It has no such "calculator" functionality that I can find - it just has some static text/charts that you can use - much like would be in a POH. It also has tips, etc.
Some screen shots:

Not sure when the new version came out but it says it added a density altitude calculator.
Thanks for the screen shots.

The current version has a density alt calculator where you enter pressure alt and temp, either C or F, and it gives the DA. It has some Mountain Flying Tips and Survival notes also. It does replicate the directory that the State charges $10 in the printed form.
On top of that, its free to the user - provided by the State of Idaho.

I like this app it has alot of info needed to fly Idaho. Wish it would rotate and pinch and squeeze/expand.
My iPad is best mounted horizontal and it seems that this app is only working horizontal.

It has a couple quirks that hopefully they'll get sorted out. I needled some friends at Montana Aeronautics about them now being behind Idaho. They said one is in the works and will be better than the Idaho version.
