Thanks Rob,

I took your recommendation and the recommendations of Coyote Ugly and others to heart. Now I just need to get more time with them! :D For the conditions we have around here, they look to be about ideal.

Yup, tailwheel on the way! What's next? 8)

8psi was recommended to Dad. Any ideas? Sounds like some even run less. The weight of the plane will make a difference, but for a bearhawk it should be close to a maule or same weight class of plane.?

Re: If You're Going Big, Do You Go All The Way?

Went for a flight this morning to try out the new tires. Made a couple of off airport landings in progressively rougher spots to get a feel for where I can and can't land with the 35's. I'm just taking baby steps and slowly working to get a better idea of how to judge landing sites from the air. Talk about low-impact; I walked the touch down and roll out path, I think, but I couldn't tell where it was, pretty cool. At the last landing site we went for a walk to take pictures. I love Nevada. :D

Very cool Mike, it looks like you can land just about wherever you want out there now!

It is going to be fun, Rob. I'm guessing 29's could land there ok, too. I still have a lot to learn about what's safe and what isn't yet. It would be great to have a group come out sometime after I get more landing areas pioneered and we can go play and camp. There is a lot of really big country to explore around here. I'm thinking this would be a nice time of year to spend more time in the Blackrock, too. =D>
