Next month, once the ice is truly out, a friend and I will be relocating his 172 on amphibs from central Indiana to northern Maine. We've done this a couple of times, splashing into all kinds of lakes along the way, using my Bonanza as a chase plane and a way to get back home.

This year, we'll be chasing with my new 185, which opens up a whole new list of places to explore. I'm looking for "can't miss" stops on a line from about Rochester, NY to Caribou, ME. If there's a lake close by that we can land on, so much the better. Shortfield.com is overwhelming over such a long distance.
