Speaking of innovators of yesteryear, I'm looking up at the 2015 MAF calendar on the wall. March has a circa 1953 photo of a Cub of some sort with two Continental 4-bangers mounted on the nose, offset as to avoid intertwining the props. Airplane is definitely not airworthy in the photo, more of a carcass or work-in-progress, but I'm guessing they didn't get too far with this one. But it makes for a pretty good photo.
