As posted I recently upgraded My Pacer to 26 inch Goodyear's and an Alaskan Baby Bushwheel fork with the 404 tire. Went out Sunday to test out all the new gear with some touch and go's to see how it all felt.
Did 10 landings and called it a day. Loved the feel of the new main tires but I have a shimmy in the tailwheel.
Monday decided I would go down to tighten the tail wheel main bolt one more notch to tame the shimmy.
Opened the Hanger door and one of my new main tires were flat. Was really bummed, thinking the obvious that it was either cut at the valve stem or the tube was pinched when installed and it held for a bit
Got the tire home and found a small hole in the brand new Goodyear tube. Started feeling around inside the tire and felt this odd rectangular piece of rubber glued to the inside of the tire.
I am guessing this is for balance purposes . These are tubeless tires but Im using a tube.
Starting feeling this patch and felt a sharp piece of material that was left when this piece of rubber was glue to the tire. Like a very small piece of belt.
Anyway I have asked Aircraft Spruce if they can replace the tire and tube . Brand New- 10 landings on each.
They were mailed back yesterday and Aircraft Spruce is sending them to their vendor for hopefully full credit replacement
