My situation...
* iPAD (Dual GPS) with Foreflght. Use it for every aspect of aviation planning and in route for "lower" 48 (No ADS-B, Wifi, no 4 G).
* iPAD (Dual GPS) with GARMIN BlueWater Charts. Inter-island sea navigation Hawaiian Islands.
Where I want to go...
* Would like cached maps (road, air view, topo, etc.) for travel in USA and AUS. I am going dirt bike riding on the Big Island and thought about going high tech with GPS and iPAD.
* Leaving for AUS next month and would like cached maps for iPAD and Dual GPS. I usually never get lost in Australia. A compass is all I need in the flat desert! But, maps save fuel and logistic effort greatly.
Bottom line...
Anybody have advice on cached road maps? Mahalo!

I used the Sygic app for Mexico with good success. They have maps for a lot of different places, maybe you'll be covered by them.

Thank you. I would eventually like to learn more about Mexico too. Have you flown to Isla Cerdos off of Baja? Great surfing there? I like your guidance in previous post!

I haven't ever flown to Baja. I'm a green bean here, only have been in country for 1.5 years. It's exclusively been gulf coast and central mountains so far.
I vividly remember the hassle of trying to get some of the info I've written about. Glad you found it useful!

I would eventually love to return to Mexico with an airplane. Thank you for the info regarding logistics.
