iPad Cooling Mount

Although designed for kneeboard users (and only full size iPads it looks like) I could see this also working for those who Ram Mount X-grip the iPad in a location that the sun beats directly on it. Be nice for my 185 passenger if they'd come out with a Mini-iPad version so the vent airflow could go to them instead of the X-grip'd Mini. ;-)

Re: iPad Cooling Mount

On the features (scroll down) it actually does list it as working for the iPad mini, although that's sort of odd unless there's two sizes:

Works With Most iPads™

Compatible with: iPad™ Air Versions 1 | 2 iPad™, iPad™ Pro 9.7" and iPad mini™ Versions 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

And Ram mounts:

Versatile Mounting

Compatible with RAM™ and MYGOFLIGHT™ mounts.

Good idea for sure. I'm not a fan of the bulkiness, but I do wish my ipad would stay cooler.

Re: iPad Cooling Mount

Peltier Cooling Devices anyone?

I have always wondered about taking a thin metal plate that would fit snugly on the back of an iPad, with a series of Peltier cooling devices attached and then a second thin metal plate on top of that array of plates with some outward facing shallow heat sink fins. These peltiers are cheap, run off of 12 volts and can even be solar powered if that's important for you. Ham radio guys and computer overclocking fans use them See Video below.
