Is anyone here familiar with the garmin 300xl?

I use it for rnav approaches although it is pretty outdated. Does anyone Kow how to get a dme measurement from a localizer? It is easy to tune in to a vortac and get a dme reading from it however, I cannot figure out how to do the same with dme off of a localizer.

Enter the Localizer as a destination waypoint, using it's identifier.
