Hey Guys,
Need some help, in my 1965 185D I am in the process of doing a panel upgrade. The avionics shop called and said the stationary portion of the panel assembly (part number: 0713755-1) has been previously cut for the current panel and will need to be replaced. I have started with the usual places to include skywagon city. Does anyone have any special places that they could send me for said part? The other option is to do a metal fabrication where it has been cut but I think I would rather replace it personally.
Thanks for any help,
Gypsy

If you were to buy a "Standard Panel", ie: a Cessna panel, will it be pre-cut with standard hole arrangement? That would be my guess.
Second, ANY "Genuine Cessna Part" is going to cost you through the nose.
Cut a new panel blank, then have the shop cut the holes where you want them. It will be a lot less expensive, I'd bet.

I don't have my IPC here at home so I'm curious which is the "stationary portion of the panel assembly"--
is this the upper panel where the instruments are located,
or a subpanel with switches breakers etc?

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!
Hotrod,
In the IPC its the framing around the instrument panel called "stationary panel assembly" that the removable panel attaches too. In the IPC they call the part that the actual instruments are mounted to a "cover upper and cover lower" Then those "cover's" are mounted with the shock dampeners to the Stationary panel assembly. Hope that makes sense.
