God forbid they let anyone hunt lions out there (notwithstanding the fact that the state puts a pile of them down every year).

If they are not hunted-as do other predators-over time they tend to lose their fear of man.....
And when they are hungry and have little or no fear of man, they reclassify humans to 'meal' status rather easily....

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process...

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).
Success has many fathers...... Failure is an orphan.
Quite a few years ago I also got attacked by a Cougar, pawed me all over & ripped my clothes off. I ended up mounting that Cougar, but that's a story for another time..

Yep. That's the other type. Just as dangerous though.

About 10 years ago I snowmobiled up to War eagle mountain (8000 ft in the Owyhee's, about 2 miles from the C-172 crash site memorial day weekend) in January to change the oil on the diesel generator. We parked the 2 snowmobiles between the buildings, went into the generator shed for abouty 15 minutes, then came out to the main building to eat lunch while the oil was draining. I found tracks in the snow where a cougar walked by and sniffed the seats of both snowmobiles in that 15 minutes. My boss still thinks I'm paranoid because I have always carried a pistol on service calls.
