It's Official: I live in the middle of nowhere

Interesting graphic showing the statistical "middle of nowhere" by distance from highways and distance from airports.

When it comes to highways, it looks like our northern Idaho members split the title with Pops and Gump and their crew in Nevada. When it comes to airports, my strip is located pretty solidly in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming.

Here's a longer article talking about the statistical methodology used to create the maps:

From the map it looks like northwest Maine is where you can go from the middle of nowhere to the middle of everywhere in the shortest distance. And poor Ohio looks like its covered with pavement.

Looking at the darkest, reddest "nowhere" patch out there in SW Nevada, I could swear there's a couple of pretty nice big paved airports right in the middle of that big spot....

Nahhh, I must be imagining things.

If we don't hear from Bill for a while. We'll have to assume the men in black came to pick him up. :D

The fact that my locale is actually on a map makes me a little worried. #-o
