That's nice and compact.

Wondering why he installed a baffle plate on the "unused" half of the lid? At least from the pictures it seems that way, as you can look through the heat outlet hole and see the stove in one of the pics. If implementing this design, think I'd add a length of firesleeve to help protect the fuel hose from heat inside the box.

Not sure what you mean about the unused half of the lid...
The lid that goes over the flame has a baffle to keep the top from glowing and it has a about a one inch drop on it so a range vent type screen can lean against it acting as a spark arrestor (it's not in the photo) before continuing up the stovepipe to the cowl flap..
The flame is on the side where the vent holes are so the heat has to go around the one inch drop, through the range vent screen, then over to the stovepipe, then up to the cowling.
This way the cool air being pulled in to feed the flame keeps the fuel hose cool.
Regardless, good thought reference the fire sleeve. I'll have to dig around the hangar.
