Johnson Creek or Bust

Gary and I will be leaving from Greeley & Sidney to meet at Rawlins WY between 6 & 6:30 this morning. Don't know where we will wind up tonight but will be to JC by Thursday. Will post if I can.

Don Watts, our friend who put the red Stinson in the weeds last year. He should be at JC today. Tomorrow myself and smalltailcaddy, Dave, and Chad. Fly safe and tell someone where you are. Cheers...Rob

Re: Johnson Creek or Bust

Beautiful day today here in the Boise area! Looks very nice to the north in the mountains, too. Should be great weather all week and through the weekend with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms on Friday.

I'm sure my plane will still be grounded through this weekend and as of right now, I'll be driving up Thursday afternoon or early Friday morning.

Re: Johnson Creek or Bust

Ok, I'm on the JC or bust as well. I just need to know what is going on Saturday. I need to know what to plan on for meals. I'm leaving out saturday morning and have limited space. I'm understanding a pot luck saturday night, but what about lunch saturday and breakfast sunday. I'm leaving out sunday morning, so if there is a group going to breakfast at another field that's great, where will that be located. My plan is to leave out sunday and fly into a field that has a restaurant or something for breakfast. I plan on stopping in at McCall and putting in some fuel and fly into JC from there. On the way home I plan on flying into McCall again for any needed fuel and such and than fly home. I will have the wife so I will be loaded full. See ya all there.

I plan on leaving first light saturday, will take me two hrs to get down there with 200miles on a trip plan. I will be stopping off in lewiston to relieve some pressure and stretch a little. My airspeed will be close to 120mph. so I expect to land in McCall around 8 am.

If your worried about space just bring some $$$$ and you can go to lunch in Yellow pine, or fly to a ranch and have breakfast or lunch! That way you can just bring snacks!

Re: Johnson Creek or Bust

HiCountry (with Garry) called me and said they back tracked to Rock Springs, WY. He said the winds are really howling and it took them over two hours to make it from Rawlings, WY to Rock Springs (about 85nm).

I hope to leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow and with good luck make it to JC by night fall. May meet up with HC and see how things go. SPOT will be on (tracking) and should be working this time. ;)

Oh Boy!!! :)

Cubscout jokingly refers to the state as Windoming. I realized why when we were having trucks pass us as we cruised along at 48-50kts ground speed.
