Katrina aid

Been watching the coverage of Katrina's aftermath down in LA & MS. Unbelievable! People are in a world of hurt down there, and it'll be weeks/months/years before their lives get back to normal (if they ever do!), depending on just how hard they were hit.
I called the Red Cross* tonight and donated a hundred bucks. Not much but at least it's something. I ask, challenge & otherwise urge everybody else on this board to do the same if they possibly can. This time it's not India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, or west Africa-- it's right here in our backyard!

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone down there,

I heard on the radio that Homeland Security was blocking the Red Cross from providing aid to certain areas because they did not want people to be discouraged from leaving by being made to feel more comfortable where they are. I don't want to start a political discussion, but WTF? It makes me want to pay my whole tax bill to the Red Cross instead of the Feds.

Zero, good on you. $100 is a sizeable contribution. I don't know if I will kick in that much, but I will donate.
