KCVO Corvallis Oregon freq change.

Corvallis has changed its CTAF frequency to 123.075 effective today. Thought you guys would like to know. Pilot controlled lights have not been changed, but will soon.

A welcome change. Will be nice to not hear their chatter while on MMV CTAF.

Great safety feature having PCL on another airport CTAF. I personally would think their "Ducks would be a row" before the change.

Hope they get it right soon.

Anyway, good NOTAM to share.

Hahaha, I'd hate to accidentally go full-bright while trying to call base

Could get really interesting. Especially with all the foreigners (Japanese) at the local flight school...

You'd also think that they could schedule the frequency change to coincide with the issue of the new sectionals and/or AFD's. They'd still have to NOTAM it but at least someone who didn't check for NOTAMs would still have a fighting chance if he had a current sectional.

Re: KCVO Corvallis Oregon freq change.

Here is the latest on KCVO from the airport manager. A well thought out plan.

All,

Because the Pilot Controlled Lighting (PCL) for both the FAA Navaids (REIL, VASI and MALSR) and City lighting (Runways, taxiways and signs) are crystal controlled and will take awhile to change frequencies, the PCL will stay on 123.0 until July 31, 2016 and a NOTAM has been issued to that effect.

"Roger That!"

KCVO is a VFR check point in route to Green Peter & Foster Lakes from KONP. I also get my avionics work done there too.

Thank you for the KCVO NOTAM.
