I can't remember the exact fishing publication but it had a good write up about what your doing with the airport up there. Hopefully I'll make it up there one day.

Rick you know what would really get people up there is if you had an easter egg hunt and put $5 bills in the eggs.
Or if you had FUEL  I'll come up for this though.

I should also have fuel by then. I've made a deal to buy and deliver so now all I have to do is get the county's blessing and I'm good to go.

When's the big "Kern River Run" biker bash? Maybe set up a flour bombing contest for that weekend-- whoever powders the biggest meanest biker wins.

I swore I'd go to all of these and show my ugly mug, but so far every time they've managed to coincide with a job. Same with this one.

Re: Kern Valley Spring BCP Flyin and Fishing Derby

The weather is looking great. The forecast is for clear skis and temps around 62-64 during the day and 37 at night. As always expect calm winds in the morning and breezes in the afternoon around 10mph. For those who have never been here, in the morning when the winds are down and traffic is low 35 is just fine. In the late morning after 10:00 or 11:00AM 17 is best. Even if the winds are down 17 right Hand pattern gives other traffic time to see you and you them against the mountain background and if the winds do come up your ready. I’ll have a stack of fire wood ready for Saturday night. :D

Hi Rick, this must be the flyin you mentioned. Looks like a nice spot--sorry I'll miss it. Reading the other posts it sounds like you have some role in running the airport?

Even though it's a few days out.....the weather forecast for up here in N. Nevada is looking like it might mess with being able to get out Friday or Saturday morning,...rain, snow, winds...... wind and cooler temps on down south. Are you Central Valley & So. Cal guys looking to be OK at traveling and getting in? Sure am hoping to be there....we'll see?

Re: Kern Valley Spring BCP Flyin and Fishing Derby

Well the weather for the weekend has gone south.

The forecast for Saturday is:Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Windy, with a west wind 15 to 18 mph increasing to between 28 and 31 mph. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.

And Saturday night:Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy and windy, with a low around 40.

And for Sunday:Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 50.

So if you decide to pass there will always be another day. But if not I will be here and so will the fish in the lake and the Kern River.

Re: Kern Valley Spring BCP Flyin and Fishing Derby

Sounds like a GREAT! day in NW Oregon. We don't take the umbrellas with 30% chance of showers. Monday here in Palm Desert the forecast said 30% chance of showers, shite it looked like July in Oregon. Y'all will be fine go fish!!

Your lucky to have this great wx, thats why I keep coming back. Next trip will be May after Cave Fest.

We are a little low for Golded Trout. Our elevation is only 2600ft and the Golden like it above 7000ft. But there is a lot of Rainbow around here.
