So I watched this video without realizing the specific location, etc. My folks booked us a tour for Alaska this summer and I hadn't really looked into it yet.

After watching this I checked the agenda and realized we are stopping at Ketchikan! I'm booking a Misty Fords flight and am suddenly more excited about this trip!

Keep in mind, there are only 3 sunny days in SE Alaska per year, so that being said, this video probably took 20 or 30 years to film! Good luck to those visiting, hope wx turns out good for you!

By the way, Kodiak only has one sunny day per year and on that day, it will probably be blowing 30 or so.

Actually, the summer of 2013 was the nicest I've seen in 19 years but we are paying for it now.

Ha ha, I was thinking that same thing; how did they find so many sunny days? I'll hope the weather is good enough to fly at least!

A blast from the past!! Kevin Roof used to help me in the shop to help offset his flight time when I was running the shop in Bellingham, WA for Weaver. Great guy!! Last time I saw him, was in Ketch when we flew up to look at a Beaver that Taquan had for sale. He'd found out we were coming and told Jerry to give me some static.... I couldn't figure out why he was trying to bust my butt so hard until he started laughing and informed me that Kevin had put him up to it. hahhaa Great times!!! I remember waking up and it was like -10 and had snowed the night before... prettiest I'd ever seen it there!!

Oh, now Kurt.......that's not true at all. There were actually THREE sunny days in Kodiak in 1984......and on one of those there was NO wind. Dang glassy water ops!

Actually, Ketchikan gets, what? A couple hundred inches of rain a year? Whereas Kodiak only gets 85 or so. Nobody's invented a horizontal rain gauge yet.

But, on those rare clear days.....WOW!
