KONP - Sun River - KBNO

Was down for a week with a bad alternator which was replaced. Then .... Headed to Idaho and Owyhee for a little test flight but, got turned around from TS activity. Spent the night on the ramp in Burns, Oregon next to the float plane in my sleeping bag. Decided to return to the local lakes West of the Cascades instead. The desert can get pretty gnarly during convection activity! Back in KONP to regroup.

Hope you get out on time. We started going to corvallis on our fishing trips since we had to rent a car anyway.I spent some extra time in that town due to fog, not a bad place to get stuck.

stopped at Burns on my way home from JC for fuel.earlier this month... desolate....

I spent 5 years in Corvallis for college. It's a great town/area. I'd live there in a heartbeat.

Please move down here any time, the hangers at the airport are the cheapest around on this side of the state, and the porta-potty's there are the cleanest you'll see, due to the FBO owner also owning Honey Bucket..... Both great selling points, plus we need more BUSH pilots in the area :D
