Los Angeles is fun if you are rich and beautiful. For regular folks like me it will be good to get back to Oregon and Hawaii!

Here are some pictures from Southern California this trip with Mary:

Surprised you are going out over the water. Is the VFR corridor along the beach by LAX still there? Following the beach may be more fun.

Southern California is freaking hot right now! Flying over the ocean and then North will be cooler! At least to Santa Maria.

I ride the bike path from Torrance Beach to Venice Beach frequently. No need to see it again from the air. Although I have not flown the LAX corridor for a while, not sure what the rules are now.

Expect heavy fire fighting activity out of O46, and not sure where S38 is, but there is a large fire and potential heavy smoke to the north.

Well...it looks pretty bad. Thank you for the information! I may try the Coast but, it’s been reporting low ceilings for a while in the mornings (June/July gloom). 3S8 (my error not S38) is Grants Pass, the home of Chief Aircraft.

Re: KTOA.KSMX.KLSN.KTCY.KRBL.046.3S8.6S2.KONP(v2.0)

North of Shelter Cove has been IFR the last few days. Just got done working the fires by Yreka and they are winding down, but that doesn’t mean the TFR will go away. The visibility last night and this morning was very good as the cool morning temps held it at bay. My vote would be a refuel in Scott Valley, check NOTAMS or at Weed and deviate as necessary. I will be at the office throughout the week at O85 throughout the week. Drop me a text if you are stopping in. 5 three0 570 four425

Hi Jeff,

Definitely encouraging to read your comment about Yreka! Glad you folks are winding down!

Thank you for number and will say Hello if routing permits Benton (085).

Visibility METARs look good (0200PDT, can’t sleep right now):

Re: KRBL.(?).KONP (2) routes Coastal or I5?

Saw your plane sitting at Red Bluff today. I was out there teaching a coworker and it was brutal. Your airplane looked liked it was longing for Lake Shasta instead of the molten ramp.

It's still 95F tonight! Two guys who fly 8GCBCs for PG&E stopped by and talked on KRBL ramp. They love the Scout as an observation aircraft. Made me feel pretty good as they complemented my little ship.

Are you here tomorrow morning? I'm leaving about 0800. Need to get to Corvallis to continue helo training.

I have touched down in Shasta Lake before, very nice!
