Lakeview-- Just west of Berryessa

For those that have been out to what we call "Lakeview" I found out today that we can no longer land there. It's a very sad loss in my eyes and those in the local area. I got in contact with the owner in regards to trying to camp there but before I could get that far he appologized but explained he didn't have a permit for the strip or anything from the county. So I guess they would get mad if there was ever an incident there. I don't want people to think he was mean, he was very kind. But just couldn't accept the liablity that comes with lots of us flying in. Sorry I asked about camping, it kind of ruined things  RIP Lakevew strip

Too bad he doesn't want to just look the other way when people he knows land there, that way, if any incidents happen he could claim they were trespassing.

Re: Lakeview-- Just west of Berryessa

I have a strip at my place. I have not gotten the required use permit from the county planning dept. I have a neighbor that is always pissed (Idaho transplant) so it is best that I am the only one that lands there. I would like to open it to all but considering the cercumstances it is closed to all. One of the other neighbors flew F86's in Korea and he thinks it is great. Wish all neighbors were like him.

Those probably wouldn't hold up in court anyways. This was the point of my post, if he doesn't give anybody permission, everybody is trespassing but he just looks the other way. That way if something does happen all he has to say is that, "they were trespassing"

Not that any of us would sue over something like that, but sadly, this is whats become of our society...cant say I blame the guy :(
