Bad timing

Looks like a fun place to meet up. Unfortunately this is the same weekend as the Maule fly in at the Minam Lodge Or. It is only a few from Landsinn.

Yea, we got it! We will make it a point and will bring as many guys (and gals) as would like to attend from here. Anyone from this area want to tie up and make it a flight, send us a note.

Damn, I won't be able to attend that date either. I have to go to a wedding in CO. Hopefully this will just be the first of many get togethers in the West. Have fun guys! Take pics.

There is a slight possibility. That is the begining of fire season and he will likely be out flying someones Sky Crane. If he's back though, I am sure he would be up for it.

I can make it

I guess I should be there since I was the one who started this by suggesting Lands Inn in the first place

Happy flying....guy

It's possible I may be able to come along on this afterall, but it's still up in the air. Trip to the wedding in CO is starting to sound really expensive. If something is going to cost me a lot of $$, i'd better be getting stick time.

Gonna be up there that week.

Alyce and I are flying up from AZ on Saturday the 18th (tentative due to possible work commitments) and we're thinking of staying at Lands Inn that night, so we may already be there on Sunday morning when ya'll arrive.

We're gonna be wandering around the Idaho backcountry the entire week eventually ending up at the Maule fly-in on Friday the 24th. If anyone's interested in exploring around Idaho during that week too, we would enjoy the company around the campfire. We haven't yet decided where we're gonna wander to, but Johnson Creek is a definite to visit friends there, along with Big Creek, Moose Creek, possibly Shearer, morning trips to other strips, and also Root Ranch for breakfast and a day of riding.

We aren't planning any landings at strips with RHI's over 30 - not bringing any Depends along on the trip this time.

Hey jmtgt, are you planning on flying your new Maule to the fly-in at Minam? Sounds like it's gonna be a lot of fun. Gene has fun and games planned for the entire weekend.

Hey, maybe we'll see you at Big Creek. We're gonna be there on the 22nd and 23rd. We probably introduced ourselves at the fly-in last year, but I can't seem to recall for sure. Were you the guy that showed me that cool short .223?

I'm also curious about your concerns about Minam. PM me if you don't want to discuss it in public.

John,

I just made a reservation at Lands Inn for the 18th, so we'll probably see you there unless the business keeps us home that day. 'Oh well' about meeting in ID.

I've heard that the situation at Minam has been corrected with a recent change of ownership - especially the one concerning food (very important indeed). Accomodations don't concern me too much since we'll be camping out under our wing...just as long as the ground is soft, lol. Hope they've got a decent horse to ride, that's very important too.

Good to hear your purchase went O.K.. Long distance purchases are like long distance relationships, a lot of the time they just don't work out. We purchased our plane in the Sacramento area and fortunately the result was good also. I guess we'll get to see your new toy at Lands Inn.

6-26-05 At Lands Inn 49OR

Kurt/John - It sounds like a plan. The McKain Clan will be there pending possible WX problems.
Probable plan would be to arrive Friday 6-24-05 mid day if possible and depart Sunday afternoon.
Looking forward to seeing your new bird John.

Unless you want to camp the night before, June 18th. If I can go, this is what will be doing. Sounds like a few more of you will too.

Has anyone actually made reservations for either a cabin or camping at Land's Inn yet? Just curious if they know we are coming.

Yuppers, we've got a A-frame reserved for the 18th. Funny thing is Carol and the kids are goin' to be here in Phoenix that weekend, so Tom is gonna have to host the bunch of us himself. He just might need our help serving breakfast, though I refuse to wash dishes. I'm much better at burning food...John and Kurt can wash dishes. Image

See what happens when a guy actually goes out flyin' and can't be online to defend himself. Kitchen duty!! And dishes at that.
It was worth it. Three hours all along the coast, a beach or two, sized up some river bars and hopefully some great pictures. So yeah, I'll scrub with a smile on my face. Maybe I'll bring the Lab to help me... I'll try to figure out Zane's posting for pictures & you guys can hang 'em up to look at while you're cooking.

I added a poll to get a feeling for how many of you are going to be around on saturday. Yes, I was the one who cast the vote for the lowpass.

What are wheel pants? Mine would need a belt anyway!
We're torn at the moment. My wife suggested that we go for an overnight and spend some time poking around in the fossil digs. My youngest really seems to like that and an opportunity to show him the benifit of flyin' around would be really cool. The time away too would be fun. The responsibility thing takes it's toll though too. We have a fresh litter of pups and Chelle is a hawk about them. We'll watch the weather too. So I guess I'm on the fence. Would like to keep JR company though, here's hoping.

You guy's get weather up there or somethin'? Ya'll are starting to get me concerned. We're flying 750 miles that Saturday so I better not get up there and find the weather is crappy or I'm gonna have some words with somebody!

If it looks bad, divert to Reno. Have beer.
