Landing and taking off on a small lake

Playing with my new GoPro camera mounted on my Cessna 180 float plane. A short video of landing and taking off on a small lake on a hot calm day to visit a friend's cottage. Glassy water requires a special technique and here it is complicated by having to thread the needle at the narrows that is in the middle of the lake. Good thing I didn't much weight on board.

Nice flying!

I have a 180 on floats also. Would you share a photo and details or your tail spring mount? The one we've tried wants to rotate backwards when the spray hits it.

The resulting video is something like a glass bottom airplane. Interesting, but not what we're looking for.

Thanks

Love those CAP 3000 floats, had a set of them on a 185 I had years ago.

I used a motorcycle handlebar mount to attach the camera to the tail stinger and I experienced the same problem as you did on my first try. I then used a ring clamp to secure a small metal bar immediately behind the camera and it stopped the camera from rotating backwards.

I was wondering the same thing, that camera angle is awesome.
