Landing on the Snow in Seeley Lake MT

We took a day-trip to check out a couple airstrips here in western Montana. Flew over Rock Creek, landed on the snow covered grass strip in Seeley Lake, and enjoyed the mountain views along the way. Like the video if you do, and check it out in the link below.

Thanks for posting. Interesting video. I thought Seeley Lake would have more snow this time of year. I think that Lookout is Double Arrow, on the Lolo National Forest. http://www.firelookout.com/mt/doublearrow.html

I have landed many times at Seeley lake but never in the snow. Your video was great for information on landing there in the snow. Thanks for posting.

Re: Landing on the Snow in Seeley Lake MT

Thanks for checking out the video! Seeley Lake is just as fun in the winter as it is in the summer. When we landed a couple locals came out to say hi and told us that between local aircraft owners and the county the runway is plowed regularly. They did say though, that the snow berms get pretty hi late into the winter so it's not recommended for low wings, or those who cant keep it on center. I liked landing on the snow. It slows you down quick. Barely even touched the brakes!
