Morning at JC before launching for Big Creek for breakfast. It was cold...down to 32 F the night before.
Cabin Creek had burned about a week before. There were still a few places smoking. It burned mostly to the West and East...pretty hot on the east side. It didn't burn up or down canyon very far. Still some grassy spots in the tiedown area. Strip is still in good shape.
After a run to Yellow Pine, Gene asked if we knew how to put a door lock on. A few weeks ago a Mexican pilot got locked in the men's room and was stuck for over 2 hours. Gene had to get him out with a crowbar and a lot of pounding he said. This lock was a pain to put on, but we finally figured it out.
A dinner guest we had on our second night.
Dutch oven for dinner. Boneless BBQ ribs and cheese with potatoes and carrots. Good eats!!
The crew at Big Creek for breakfast. Our friends came into JC in a 210 and had an alternator go out on them. So, we had to ferry everyone over to Big Creek for breakfast before heading home. It didn't take any arm twisting for them to have me do the ferrying!
Breakfast traffic at Big Creek. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. It was kind of sad when we left knowing that it won't be until next year before I get back. I'm not looking forward to those long winter months waiting for the snow to melt and habitually checking the webcam for any signs of grass. Oh well...so it goes.
