Legal Tire Size Help - C182B model
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?

I am looking for any information on the legal tire sizes I can put on my stock 1959 C182B. It currently has the 6.00x6 on the malns and 5.00x5 on the nose with what appears to me to be a heavier front fork. I will pull he wheel pant and take a picture to post.
It is time for new tires and I am on Grass strips a lot. Thought I might go bigger tires but didn't want to have to do a new nose fork or STC.
I see that on the 1963ish and up they are doing 8.00x6 on the mains and 6.00x6 on the nose with a new wheel with out any paperwork. Can I do that on my 1959? My Mechanic is looking for me as well, just thought I would ask here.
Thanks

I have done it on two different 182B's. Also several others on this site have done it with a 206/310 fork and a field approval. Log book entry will not be legal. There are many that just do it. McCall Aviation at KMYL seems to be able to get it done. They must be in good standing with the Boise FSDO.
Give then a call and take your plane there

What sizes did you end up going with when you did your 182B models? Do you have any pictures? I'd like to take a look.
Thanks
