LightSPEED ANR Headsets

I recently sent my five year old LightSPEED 20XL headset off for a refurb. They changed most of the components, put new earpads and a headband pad on it, and converted the battery box/control unit to the new one with audio inputs. The whole thing cost just $75, and get this, they did the work on it and shipped it back the same day they received it! I've always liked this headset, but I'm even more impressed with this company now - they are really something special.

Come to think of it, there are several very special aviation businesses based in Oregon; LightSPEED Aviation, Oregon Aero, Chief Aircraft, and Alaskan Bushwheel all immediately come to mind. What others am I missing here?

OOPS!, I can't leave out Deb's Aircraft. Jerry overhauled my engine.

Lightspeed has good customer service. One channel in my 20-3G went out and they replaced the wiring. Was nice, cuz I got the updated battery box.

Went out and flew with my freshly upgraded/refurbed 20XL's today...I like em. Plugged the CD in and listened to Brad Paisley while cruising through the Bradshaw Mtns., it was very nice.

Zulu

I recently purchased a Zulu headset and although I've never used the bose in an aircraft I tried both on at Reno and the Zulu wins hands down in comfort as well as noise cancellation. Plus you have inputs for your satellite radio, and Bluetooth phone it really turns any airplane into a concert hall.

My only real problem that I have had was a bad set of batteries. When I spoke with the company. They said they were aware of that problem and were taking care of it and offered to send the batteries etc. these people are just top-notch. You just don't see that in a company anymore they will get all my future headset business.

Years ago but since the new style Bose came out, I was at OSH, and each headset manufacturer had their own sound booth to test 'their' headset against the competition.
It seemed to me that these sound booths could be tuned to 'their own' headset and so I asked each to lend me a headset to take to competitors booths.
All manufacturers complied with my request except Lightspeed who were downright rude. Maybe the rep was having a bad day, however it soured me with that company ever since.
Has anybody had experience with the newest Telex ANR.
At present I'm using a Bose though I can find fault with it (cuts out at 110db + and earcups are a bit small) and DRE6000 which for $300 is unbeatable. Aviation consumer years back placed it at the top of the pile above Bose when taking price into consideration.
