Geeze, thanks Gump..a nice find. Not much there right now but will check from time to time. Believe it or not, every once in a while we get to see the lights down here in western Nebraska. They are usually faint and don't last long but when I've been up in Western South Dakota the lights have put on quite a show.

The faster I go , the farther behind I get.
It was going like gangbusters about 1 am this morning when I peeked outside.
We're in year two or three of a downcycle, don't see many great shows these days. Even still...

Saw them once in Southen Alberta and once here at my place, just north of Mt Shasta.
Never saw them at sea. Maybe cus we were always submerged.

Supposed to be very active tonight. Live vicariously through the webcam above from the lower 48. Too light to see them here yet but the report from Southeast Alaska (where it's dark already) is that it is quite a show.

Very cool. Thanks for posting. It has been many years, but there were a few winters in Montana when I used to see them.
This is a nat geo time lapse from Norway I just ran across.

I think the server (a .jp domain) must have gone down with the earthquake.
