Local flight

Wife and I were talking and had an interesting idea.
We thought it'd be cool if when traveling, there was a list of BCPers who'd be interested in showing off their local area to visiting pilots. It would be a chance to meet other like minded folks and see the area. Not a aerial tour thing, just flying. It seemed like a great excuse for a flight mission. Pitching in for fuel, meal, all the obvious stuff.
Whenever we're forced to travel in the oil burners, we're wishing we could see the area as we do back at home.
Opinions?

Re: Local flight

This is a good idea. In the Goldwing Motorcycle group they produce a book with every members name in the world and what they are willing to do to help a fellow member that may be touring and need help in an unfamiliar area. Things like tools available or have a truck or trailer to transport your broken bike into town, etc. I can be contacted about Northwestern Ontario. I know everything about fishing except how to catch them.

Re: Local flight

Why not, those of us with heavy planes need to justify our 12-16 gallon/hr fuel burn. Filling seats usually does it for me.
