looking for a reputable avionics shop near Boise
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
If anyone has had good experience with an avionics shop near Boise/Nampa/Caldwell please PM me and let know who you used. Looking to get some radio and intercom work done in a few months and would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I can't remember the name of the avionics shop on the field at Nampa, if it still exists, but I checked into having some work done there and talked to a few friends on the field. I ended up not having the work done there. I didn't have it done at all actually but based on the reviews I got I wouldn't have had it done there regardless. Might PM joecub, I bet he'd know a good place to go.

It all looks good, "from a distance".

Could it have been Skyline? I know they are based at Nampa so it would be really convenient, just hadn't heard a word either way on them.

Ron Miller, Twin Falls. End of story-
We're scheduled in there in March. Seemed like he is running a few months out but he's great.

Altitude is Time…. Airspeed is Life!
so what do you guys do when you take your plane to get worked on out of the local area? I'm assuming it would be at least one overnight, so am trying to stay local to avoid the additional cost of hotel and traveling out there.

It could have been but I can't remember for sure. I know it was on the west end of the airport though.

Stay away from Western Aircraft in Boise unless you have an UNLIMITED budget.

Hopefully somebody you know will enjoy an excuse to buddy up and fly you home while the bird gets worked on... And back to pick it up.

Got one Ron's waiting list about 4 months ago, my time has finally come so dropping the plane off tomorrow. Worked out good because we are driving that way anyway for a summer camping trip and hopefully it will be done when we're headed back through Twin. Excited to finally get the PS Engineering PAR-200 installed and the old boat anchors ripped out. No more portable intercom on the floor and hopefully there will be room for the ipad at the top of the stack.
