Looking for help from Oregon

Off the wall question..... I’m always looking for excuses to go flying and I’m trying figure the best place and time to fly down to Oregon and get some Marrion Berries. They are next to impossible to find in our area. I’m guessing somewhere in the Willamete Valley is my best shot??? Somewhere with a courtesy car would be ideal. How about timing? Thanks in advance!

Roshak's Berry Shack is about a mile northwest of Twin Oaks airport. Don't know if they have a car, but flying into Hillsboro would work too. July-August is the time. Hood River also has a berry loop that has great stuff this time of year. The fbo used to have a car. I don't know if Tac Aero (new FBO and forum sponsor) still does.

Are blackberries and Marion berries the same thing? If so, they're a weed here. A very yummy berry yielding weed but they are tenacious. Come visit, I'll drive you a few miles and you can have a go. Always good to carry a 6' 2x6 so you can penetrate the deeper reaches of the bushes like a gang plank.

They were a sponsor for calendar year 2018 only, but not for 2019. Cool Top Cubs for rent.

Thanks for the info guys! Zane, I’ll get in touch with you when we get a little closer to the season. Maybe I can bring you a box of pears and some good local brews! I really appreciate the offer! And yes, marrion berries are different than blackberries, they are amazing! Fly up this way sometime and Amanda will make you a pear pie and marrion berry pie. They’re incredible!
