Very interesting..... I recall driving by Lost Lake all the time on my way to go skiing at Hoodoo when I lived in Corvallis.

Lost Lake is near Mt. Hood? Not Santiam Pass? I am not sure. :?:

Hoodoo Ski Resort is near Santiam Pass. Mt Hood is much further north.

Yep...

Just confirming the following (sorry for the disjointed sentences #-o above)

Lost Lake is near Mt. Hood (relative North East from Corvallis), not Santiam Pass (relative East, Corvallis)...

OK- Wrong "Lost Lake" I guess...... I had to go check my maps. I found the Lost Lake I was referring too about 1 mile east of the Santiam Junction Airport or about 1 mile east of the intersection of Hwy 126 and Hwy 20.

Image That's so cool! I have a photo of this lake (sorry it's pretty dark), and I didn't know the background before. That makes it much more interesting!

There are two "Lost Lakes" (Maybe more?), interesting. Thank you for the coordinates.

Traveled HWY (20) many times and alighted on Green Peter Lake (North branch of Santiam Pass) a dozen or more times on amphibs.

Just to clarify. The Oregon Lost Lake that drains into the lava tubes is the one on Santiam Pass. Lost lake near Mount Hood does not drain.

Ahhh. Now we have some consensus. Thank you.

(I really confused myself with my benign post!)

Haha, of course.
When I was a kid, we went to battleground lake a lot. From what I understand, that lake also has a mystery outlet. Strangely, it was formerly named crater lake. It was renamed in part to avoid confusion with the other one (which is also one of maybe five other crater lakes).

Oregon has a lake identity crisis! Heck, I am learning a lot about stuff that would have confused me #-o , if not for this thread.

Thank you for the knowledge!! 8)
