LSA Weight Limit Increasing To 3600 Pounds

Here's a quote:
"Regarding the much-anticipated max weight increase, FAA refers to a “Power Index.” This term means a formula-based method to replace maximum takeoff weight in the definition of a LSA, involving wing area, horsepower, and takeoff weight".
Unfortunately this is vague in the extreme, gives no hint of what changes (if any) might be proposed.
Maybe certain limits on power loading & wing loading,
in which case we probably can not expect any increase in LSA performance over what we have now.
