Luscombe down near Oceano, Ca.
Debrief, share, and hopefully learn from the mistakes of others.
Not a whole lot of info yet but the initial report says a Luscombe 8a went down in the Oceano Dunes state park about a mile from the ocean. The pilot was alone and was sadly killed, although he was barely alive when rescuers reached the site. CPR onsite failed. It sounds like there were no roads nearby so it took the rescue team a while to reach him.

OK, more info;
The pilot was Glen Phillip Ray, 56, of Grover Beach. The story has a lot of good things to say about him. He also owned a monocoupe 90A. One person said he left Oceano (L52) which makes sense, Grover Beach is next door.
