Guys from this site are flying in to Johnsons Creek on July 15th. McCall is not far at all from there and is usually where people stop for fuel and other stuff before heading into into the Idaho Backcountry.

I believe it's the first or second weekend in August. And it is VERY busy- especially with all the part 135 and forest service tankers; last year the FAA brought in a temporary tower. That helps a lot. All the controllers are from Boise, so they know the area pertty well, and they're friendly, I think for them it's kind of a vacation. They're out of the 100 degree heat, up in the mountains working with mostly GA folks.
It's hard to picture it in summer right now. I just spent all morning clearing a seasons worth of snow from one of our taxiways (we close all but 1 taxi way in the winter.) It's melting pretty quick, but there's still at least 2 feet of snow on the ground.
Prayin' for some sun....

This year the 20th Annual Northwest Mountain McCall Family Fly-In will be August 11-13. I went last year and had a good time so I plan on going back. There were lots of people camping with their airplanes, free backcountry flying seminars, give-a-ways and a great barbecue dinner.
