Just a note about Madras Oregon airport manager Don Mobely. After many years as airport manager Don is moving on to fly business jets for Les Schwab tires. His last day is June 30th. We'll really miss him.

Don is one of those true aviation enthusiasts who loves anything that flies and can instruct in anything that flies. He has gone out of his way to make us PPC flyers feel welcome, and has even encouraged PPC fly-ins at the airport. Stop in at Madras and say goodbye to Don if you get a chance.

BTW there is a big PPC fly-in happening on Memorial Day weekend at the Madras Airport.

I'ts a shame he's leaving now that they have that brand new fabulus facility there. But I talked to his wife a few weeks ago and she said Don would still have access to the Citabria and continue to give instruction on his days off, which is good because if you want any taildragger or aerobatic instruction, I believe he is the only game in town (IN central Oregon)
