There are a lot of brilliant people on this forum, and some of them are pretty smart too. Here's an idea for somebody with start-up capitol and a real lot of smarts.
A high quality borescope that will allow one to look deep into a wood wing costs $1300-$2500 bucks from ATS and other sources.
What we need instead:
How about a little tiny car, small enough to fit through a spark plug hole, with it's own light source, knobby tires, four wheel drive and a focusable CCD camera on board. The wheels might be able to spin in opposite directions on each side for maneuverability. I think it should have a power and USB data wire attached to avoid the weight and additional complexity of a battery system and remote control. The wire might be good for retrieving it if it gets stuck too. But maybe a bluetooth option? I saw a much too large home made version on the science channel that a guy used to crawl down spider holes in the South America rain forrest.
