Kevin,
Your video was fun. Christine's bounced landing wasn't nearly as bad as I heard it described. One thing always bubbles back into my memory about Johnson Creek, the sound of the prop bouncing off the canyon walls - you're video captured it well. Was hoping you got our arrival Friday evening on tape, but alas, I think you all were at dinner. That was a very fun trip.

Strata,
which plane were you in?
I'm in Idaho now but when I get home tonight will check the tapes for your plane, C170 & the 59' C182.

Kevin,
We were flying a M-4-220C, blizzard white & orange, N40341. I made a rather ragged approach to a decent touch down - actually not a bad landing for me after a full day of cross country flying. We were camped a little ways to the south of you and didn't arrive until about 7:30pm Friday. We spoke with you and Mike quite a bit - I was the guy wearing the cowboy hat and walking around with the gorgeous lady named Alyce.

No doubt about it, the plane making the smoke-on high speed pass was a Glasair II or III. It's very hard to tell the two apart.

For those of us who were awake... The paint job on the Glassair was real unique. It was a fading front to back, blue checker board that became all white about mid cockpit. I thought I could recognize the engine but I was having trouble hearing it over the cacaphony of laughter coming from the cockpit itself! Next time we'll know: When in Johnson Creek, beware the Glassair!
