Maule M7 landing gear
This subforum is meant to organize Maule-related topics.
I am looking the options on purchasing a Maule M7 235. From what I'm seeing for sale it's only the older models that come with the Oleo suspension gear, the 2000 and newer look to be on spring gear? Is this correct or is it just what's listed currently on most of the sites?
I would prefer the Oleo suspension and to be able to put the extended gear on form Alaska Airframes, and assuming it would be not possible to change the spring gear over to Oleo type?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers

You are correct. The M7-235, M7-235A, and M7-235B have oleo gear. The newer M7-235C has spring gear and it’s not possible to convert.
The spring gear planes are more often listed for sale for some reason. The oleo planes sell quick, but there are plenty of older Maule’s in rough shape out there. Don’t limit yourself to M7 while you’re browsing, I’d keep your eyes out for M6’s and MX7’s as well. The fuselage is the same size, but a little less headroom above rear seat.

Unless it is a C Model it is oleo gear.
Looks like the C models and trikes are the ones that get sold more often.
Much harder to find Oleo models for sale.
I second the M6 and MX series are great options.
Quality control on the older birds is pretty poor and a good overhaul is usually better than a low time one as most of the issues get fixed.
In particular the poor paint.
cheers
