I have an MX7, windows are in excellent shape, no cracks or chips around the vents. The problem is that the little round vents in the right and rear doors leak water when flying in the rain. The left one has a slight leak but it is minor compaired to the two on the right. One needs to have rags handy if flying in the rain. I've checked numerous times to make sure they are seated properly. Is this a common problem with the maule windows? Or am I just lucky? Has anyone come up with a fix that leaves the vent functional? Thanks.

I have a '04 M-7 with the same window vents on three windows. I have flown in some terrible rain and have never had this problem unless i didn't have them seated nicely. You may try tightening the little screw that holds the plastic latch in place. Mine were not sitting perfectly until i tighened it alittle. Good luck Peter

One other guy on Maule.org suggested that I was not in trim and thus presenting the right side of the aircraft to the rain. I'll check the screw on the latch and make sure all are seated. Next time I fly in the rain I'm going to try to trim the rudder and see if my ball is out of alignment. The plane is as hands off as any small plane I've ever flown with the ball centered now but I'll try anything.
