Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.

I currently have a 2 blade C-66 on my '57 C-180. I have a chance to get a good deal on a C401 3 blade, 82" prop off a C-185. I've heard good and bad things about going 3 bladed. I'm using this aircraft mainly for skydiving, so looking for take off/climb performance, not too worried about cruise. Should I stuck to the 2 blade, or "upgrade" to the 3 blade?

I think the 2 blade will be more efficient and will give you better take off and climb performance.
The 3 blade will be much smoother, but will be heavier and may be less efficient.

Without the prop lengths and what engine your running, even our speculation would be meaningless
Take care, Rob
